Mold contamination

We can help you understand what legal rights are available to you if your property or your health have been affected by water intrusion and mold. The following are a few of the many ways you may become involved in a legal dispute due to mold contamination:

  1. You built a new home (or purchased a manufactured home). Defects in the construction of or materials used in the home allowed water intrusion. The builder/seller refused to fix the problem, or delayed long enough that mold contamination occurred
  2. Your home suffered water intrusion damage due to bursting pipes, storm damage or other cause that may be covered by your homeowners insurance policy. It took several weeks or months to get anything done about the problem, and you are afraid what was done was not done correctly. You have either seen mold, or have noticed a moldy odor, and you and/or your kids seem to be sick a lot of the time.
  3. You are the manager of a multi-unit apartment building, or townhome or condominium association. Your building(s) suffered an water intrusion damage due either to faulty initial construction, repair work you hired a contractor to do or to an insured loss. Your tenants/owners are complaining of mold problems in their units and are threatening to sue you. Your Board (or owner) is getting nervous and is on your case. You want the problems to be handled by your contractor or your insurance company, but you're getting the run-around.
  4. You purchased an existing home. The seller or his agent concealed from you the fact that the home had serious water problems. Mold contamination developed before you found out the truth.
  5. Your home had water intrusion/mold problems that were supposedly fixed by a remediation contractor.  Now the problems have returned.
  6. You think you may have a problem, but don’t know who to turn to for expert advice.  We know who the best experts are, and will be happy to refer you to them.
